Lesson Policies
My full studio policies are available in the link below. A physical copy will be given to each student to be kept in their lesson binder, with the separate agreement portion signed and returned to me. Some key information is listed below:
Scheduling
Welcome to all of my new and returning students! Scheduling is based on a first come, first served basis. To enroll in my private lesson studio, please complete the appropriate Google Form link above. For organization purposes, I ask that all returning students also complete the form.
Lesson slots are booked by the hour or half-hour. I have availability before/after school, or during a student’s lunch or band period. The precise amount of time may be slightly less if booked during a class period to accommodate the bell schedule.
All of my lesson slots are viewable on my calendar. Please contact me if you would like to swap times with someone. You may also book extra lessons in a given week if there are empty slots available.
Lessons will occur on the same day and time each week. Please be ready and knock on the door when it is your lesson time. Lessons will occur on the student’s campus in a designated practice room. While I do my best to remain consistent with my choice of space, the exact location may fluctuate from week to week. I will do my best to communicate this.
If there are any events such as state testing, student holidays, or field trips that interfere with our scheduled time, I will do my best to either adjust my schedule or provide a credit on next month’s invoice.
When signing up for lessons, I strongly encourage commitment throughout the entire school year. However, if need be, cancellation is available at any time.
Cost
Lessons cost $40 for the hour or $20 for the half-hour, and are billed monthly. Students receive one lesson per week, and given a typical month has 4 weeks, the monthly cost for lessons is typically $160 or $80 depending on the amount of time booked. I will send an invoice at the end of each month via email. Unless otherwise noted, payment is due on the first lesson of each month. I accept cash, check, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Venmo.
No lessons will be taught if payment is not received by the first lesson of the month. You are still financially responsible for the missed lesson. Students with excessive non-payment issues risk dismissal from my studio.
I will communicate exclusively with parents about payment. I will have more flexibility with payment issues if they are communicated ahead of time.
Scholarships
A limited number of need/merit based scholarships are available from the Red Oak Band Boosters. If lesson costs are prohibitive, please contact a band director to be considered for financial assistance.
