About Patrick
Patrick Anderson is a performing trombonist and educator in the DFW metroplex, with a strong passion for sharing the joy of music. Patrick is currently Principal Trombone of the Mansfield Philharmonic, a member of the Mansfield Wind Symphony, and an active church musician in Keller, both as a trombonist and a singer. A multi-instrumentalist, Patrick boasts performance experience across trombone, voice, and piano. As a music educator, Patrick is entering his third year of teaching as a private low brass instructor at Red Oak ISD. He has taught private piano lessons and has also served as a piano accompanist for his students. He greatly enjoys mentoring and sharing his passions with young aspiring musicians.
In 2021 Patrick won a fellowship to attend the prestigious Aspen Music Festival and School in Aspen, CO. He performed there with the Aspen Conducting Academy Orchestra. While in Aspen Patrick was able to study with renowned teachers such as James Miller, Peter Sullivan, Timothy Higgins, and Per Brevig.
In 2020 Patrick won the Henry Mancini Fellowship to attend the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami for his M.M. in performance, where he studied with Tim Conner. While there he was a member of the Frost Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the legendary Gerard Schwarz.
Patrick earned his B.M. in performance from the University of North Texas, where he studied with Dr. Natalie Mannix. While there, Patrick served as principal trombone of the UNT Concert Orchestra for two years, was a member of the award-winning UNT Trombone Consortium, and was lead trombonist of the Four O’Clock Lab Band.
Patrick also attended the International Lyric Academy in Vicenza, Italy in 2018, and the Philadelphia International Music Festival in 2016. In high school, Patrick was selected as a member of the 2015 TMEA All-State Philharmonic Orchestra. Patrick attended Keller Central High School and was a member of the Wind Ensemble all four years.
Outside of music, Patrick is an avid proponent of physical fitness and holistic wellness/nutrition. He enjoys cooking, photography, and nature - and spending time with friends and family.
